Children's Ultimate Frisbee Club (Kids Ultimate) meets on Sundays, 10 – 11:30 AM – March 8 – October 25, 2026 🏃 (spring, summer & fall season) - grades K through 12 (parents are welcome to join and participate) - 🤝 join to become a member & get on the member email list, receive details and location information (everyone is welcome to play with us - ES through HS + parents). For advanced players, join our U12, U15, & U20 Competition Teams (U12/15 - grades 4-8, & U20 - grades 9 -12). We play using USA Ultimate guidelines for U12, U15, & U20.
Goal: have the kids learn and be able to play a good game of ultimate.
What to bring: lots of water, sunscreen, and soccer cleats, if you have.
Practice Structure: resembles a normal club practice (prepare to run a lot) - around 2 hours:
- 1 hour – warmup, skills and drills – everyone together (all kids & interested parents)
- 1 hour – ultimate by groups (field 1 – grades 4-6, field 2 – grades 7-8, field 3 – grades 9-12)
There are two-three groups of kids playing, separated by age: ES, MS, and HS (we appreciate a lot of parents joining).
Waiver: Attending means accepting this waiver: waiver.
Philosophy: it is important to learn the basic skills right – foundations. We’ll teach from the beginning: safety, catching, throwing (back-hand, forehand, hucks, hammers, scoobers, V-stack, H-stack, dumps, strategies, defense, marks, offense, Zone-O, Zone-D, etc.).
Good spirit, sportsmanship, and friendships are important.
Safe Sport & Background Checks: All coaches are parents, and completed safe sport training and background checks with local youth sports clubs (FPYC, BAC, others). The Head Coach is also FCPS Level-3 Volunteer.
